The UWEBI conducts multi-disciplinary research enhancing the competitiveness of Wisconsin industry.

The UW E-Business Institute (UWEBI) is a campus-wide University of Wisconsin-Madison initiative conducting multi-disciplinary research on e-business strategies, emerging information technologies and innovative business practices. The UWEBI's overarching goal: enhance the competitiveness of Wisconsin industry.

We also name annually a Distinguished Fellow, a visionary who has led significant achievement and advancement in IT and e-business. We give the award at the annual Business Best Practices and Emerging Technologies Conference.

Internet of Things Lab in the news
The UW IoT Lab's students, open house and innovations have been making the news. UW students and their projects were featured on the front page of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. The College of Engineering recapped the Open House, while the University of Wisconsin created a video highlighting the Bike Recovery Network.

Bauer named 2014 UWEBI Distinguished Fellow
Julie Bauer received the 2014 UWEBI Distinguished Fellow Award October 14 at the 16th annual Business Best Practices & Emerging Technologies Conference. Bauer also gave the plenary keynote address at the conference. The award is given to recognize visionary leadership and advancements in IT and e-business (past recipients in right column).
Bauer leads Panasonic's consumer sales operations in the US and manages the company's broad array of consuker products through all of its distribution channels. Her career also includes positions at Guthy-Renker, Mattel, Inc. and Best Buy, Co.
