Leveraging Spend Analysis to Drive Bottom-Line Impact - May 15, 2009

The business intelligence gained from detailed analysis of historical spend data can drive significant improvement in a company's bottom-line results. Spend analysis is the starting point of any strategic sourcing program, and lays the foundation for spend visibility, control and compliance. While a key objective of spend analysis has always been to identify top suppliers and commodities in order to aggregate demand and employ buying leverage, it is about more than slicing and dicing of date, or viewing it on a dashboard. Today's sourcing leaders are harnessing their data to its fullest potential by using it to define objective - driven processes to identify savings opportunities and improve compliance. The presentations and discussion at this meeting focused on how member companies use spend analysis to drive improved business performance.
