Supply Chain Management Peer Group
Leveraging TMS Tools
In response to the growing realization of the impact of transportation on overall supply chain effectiveness, adoption of Transportation Management Systems (TMS) has increased markedly in recent years. It's no wonder. Capabilities enabled by many TMS tools, including transportation sourcing, requirements forecasting, total cost management, and shipment visibility provide a compelling business case for many firms. But as with any technology, the promise depends on the practice. This meeting will explore how companies who have implemented a TMS tool are getting the most from it today - and how they hope to derive even more value in the future. Designed for both TMS veterans and those considering a TMS tool, the discussion will provide a valuable opportunity for TMS users to compare notes on current practices that have had the most impact and for companies interested in TMS to learn from the experiences of others currently benefiting from a TMS tool.

About This Peer Group
Firms in industries of all types are realizing that competitive advantages can be gained — or lost — based on the functioning of their supply chains. The leaders in these companies understand the value of intentionally planning the design of their supply chains, reducing uncertainty through collaboration with suppliers and customers, improving forecasts, optimizing inventory levels, streamlining logistics and eliminating costs. The Supply Chain Management Peer Group is a forum for leaders and senior practitioners in supply chain functions to share and discuss the business strategies and practices critical to realizing these goals, and to glean actionable insights for achieving excellence in supply chain management from experienced peers.
Using the UW E-Business Consortium’s proven Peer Group format, representatives from member companies meet quarterly for a highly interactive, professionally facilitated discussion in a collaborative, non-commercial environment. Member and subject-matter-expert case studies are regularly featured. Regular participants have the opportunity to form valuable business relationships with like-minded SCM professionals from a diverse set of industries.
