Industry Projects

Member companies stay competitive through company-sponsored research projects led by world-class UW-Madison faculty and graduate students. Sponsor companies define their project objectives and work closely with faculty, students, and UWEBC staff to achieve desired outcomes.

Access the expertise of UW affiliated faculty for tailored research projects in these areas and others:

  • Information Technology
  • Operations & Supply Chain Management
  • Business Strategy & Optimization Issues
  • Marketing
  • Legal & Policy Issues

Two types of Industry Projects:

Student-Team Industry Projects

(Available to Executive & Director Level members)

The brightest e-business minds at UW-Madison (affiliated faculty and students) work with member companies on semester-long course projects that are mutually beneficial for the companies and students. Companies receive unbiased data and recommendations for strategic planning, and students obtain valuable "real-world" experience from leading companies. Topics can include but are not limited to:

  • Market research & competitive analysis
  • Web site usability & accessibility assessment
  • International expansion market analysis
  • Customer usage analysis of multiple e-channels

Sponsored Industry Research Projects

(Available to members and non-members)

UWEBC faculty, staff and students work with companies to address specific business and e-business topics through customized research projects. Sponsored projects are recommended for issues and challenges that require more time, in-depth analysis, and/or specialized skill sets different from those for the Student-Team Industry Projects. Topics can include, but are not limited to:

  • In-depth modeling & analysis
  • Improvement of various business processes
  • Functional requirements definition for new technology
  • ROI justification

For projects from prior semesters, see Past Projects.
