Dale Nitschke, president of Target.com from 2000 until mid-2008, will deliver the luncheon keynote address during the 10th Annual E-Business Best Practices and Emerging Technologies Conference on October 9, 2008 at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center in Madison, WI.

Dr. Raj Veeramani, founder of the UW E-Business Consortium and the UW E-Business Institute, will present Dale, a UW alumnus, with the 2008 Distinguished Fellow award.

“Dale’s work with Target.com has been exemplary,” Dr. Veeramani says. “He models the kind of visionary leadership and significant achievement in e-business that the Distinguished Fellow award recognizes.”

Past recipients of the award include John Morgridge, then chairman of Cisco Systems; Matt Korn, SVP at America Online; Jerry Shereshewski, at the time a Yahoo senior executive; and Katherine Hudson, who was chairman of the Brady Corporation.

Under Dale’s leadership, Target.com became one of the world’s top-20 visited sites.

The UW E-Business Institute is a campus-wide center engaging in federally funded research and industry-wide outreach, complementing the member-company, collaborative-learning focus of the UW E-Business Consortium.
