Information Technology Focus AreaThe UW E-Business Consortium tracks the enabling technologies of electronic business in its Information Technology Focus Area, including security, data center, infrastructure, networking, storage, user support, awareness and training, legal aspects, and similar topics.
In January 2010, the existing information security and IT strategy peer groups were merged to form a new Information Security & Infrastructure peer group. The meetings of this group are held on campus in Madison, and are open to all employees of UWEBC member companies. The meeting topics should be of interest to IT executives, managers, and team members. Meetings are generally the fourth Wednesday of the month. For 2010, we have scheduled nine meetings, six for information security topics and three for information infrastructure topics.
New for 2010 is the IT Executive Roundtable. This peer group will meet at various venues around the state, and is open to chief information and technology officers and vice presidents by invitation only. Multiple topics are covered in each meeting and are chosen by a program committee of participating executives. Meetings are the second or third Wednesday of the month, but may be changed to accomodate the program committee. For 2010, we have scheduled six meetings. Please contact the IT Practice Director, Steve Arnold, with any questions about this group.
