IT Executives Circle Peer Group MeetingDeveloping and Managing the IT Workforce July 10, 2008 · 09:30 AM - 02:30 PM Getting and keeping the right people on staff is a key determinant in the success of any IT operation. Even new companies want to be around for a long time, so workforce success must be sustainable. Our meeting will take up two aspects of this need.
We will begin with one or two case studies on recruiting IT talent, followed by a discussion of our organizations' efforts in this important area. Please consider bringing a colleague with detailed knowledge of your company's IT recruiting process to this meeting.
After our networking lunch, we'll delve into the dramatic differences in style and preferences in our workforce: what makes the 20-somethings arriving with up-to-date education on the newest technologies different from the 50-somethings with decades of industry experience and those in between? How do those of different generations prefer to work, communicate, and be rewarded? We'll have a panel presentation to help us learn how to take advantage of the strengths we have in our diverse workforce, and how to keep them happy and on the job.
Please note our new, longer meeting format. Lunch will be served.
