Director's Message
Harry Truman said “Eight years as president is enough, and sometimes too much for any man to serve in that capacity.” Perhaps that was true for him. 2005 marked my eighth year as director of the UW E-Business Consortium, and during each of those years, being at the helm of this unique university-industry partnership has been a constantly rejuvenating experience. The source of my enthusiasm is the encouragement, strong participation and continued support from members. Our ongoing commitment to understanding and improving services to meet their needs helped make 2005 our most successful year to date. A true cause for celebration!
Consortium successes included unprecedented growth in Peer Group member participation; an upswing in membership growth to 70 companies (presently at 67); national recognition of UWEBC Best Practice Reports; the official inauguration of the state-of-the-art UW RFID Lab; and completion of nearly 20 successful projects with members and industry sponsors.
On behalf of all of us at UWEBC, I offer my sincere gratitude to our members, strategic partners, and the UWEBC Advisory Board. Without you, the real progress and productivity in the past year would not have been possible, to say nothing of the past eight.
Warm regards,
Raj Veeramani
